FSU football needs elite players in the 2022 recruiting class.

FSU football hasn’t finished with the top of the recruiting class needed to get back to elite status in the past few seasons.

They have some talented players that can be developed into productive college players and eventual NFL Draft picks.

However, they’ve missed the elite talents like the 2017 recruiting class when they had three players ranked in the top 10 in the nation overall.

The 2022 recruiting class could change that narrative with the No. 4 overall player Travis Hunter Jr. committed to the Noles.

He hasn’t been shy about his desire to be ranked as the No. 1 player in the nation, and frankly, his play and stats back up the claim.

He has offers from every big-time program and recently told a Clemson coach he was all Nole when they finally decided to offer him:

This situation with Clemson came about in 2021 recruiting with four-star signee Hunter Washington told Clemson to go kick rocks because he was signing with FSU football as well.

Thoughts

These are the type of players that FSU needs right now. Players that want to help bring FSU football back to elite status.

FSU fans are acutely aware of those types of players and don’t forget those types of commitments. Lamarcus Joyner and Telvin Smith are two players that Nole fans hold dear to their hearts, not only because they were great in the garnet and gold, but also because their commitments helped FSU turn the corner, when Jimbo Fisher became head coach.

If you want to take it a step further, former five-star Jeff Luc was also part of that group. He transferred to Cincinnati after his FSU career wasn’t panning out, but FSU fans still remember the impact of his commitment.

It looks like Travis Hunter Jr. is going to cement himself among those types of players to help turn a program around.
