FSU football is in the mix for several 2022 legacy recruits.

FSU football coaches have two commitments for the 2022 recruiting cycle, in what could be a class full of difference-makers if all things fall into place.

The Noles are in the mix for several 2022 legacy recruits, and almost all of them are in positions of need.

Three-star defensive end Aaron Hester is one of them and plans to announce his decision in a couple of weeks.

He announced the news via his Twitter account Thursday afternoon:

Hester hails from Duval County and is considered the No. 396 player overall and No. 25 weakside defensive end. He’s considered the No. 52 player overall in the state of Florida. He holds 15 offers from the likes of FSU, Miami, Mississippi State, Virginia Tech, Maryland, Iowa State, among others.

Hester checks in at 6’2″ and 221 pounds and is the son of former Nole Ron Hester, a sixth-round selection in the 1982 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins.

He was first offered by the Noles on June 5, which was a week earlier than Miami, and ahead of most other Power Five programs in the mix. There are no 247 Crystal Ball Predictions for Hester at this time.

Thoughts

Hester could be the first domino to fall for Mike Norvell and the strong class of legacy recruits the Noles look to bring into the fold in 2022. Hester, Marvin Jones Jr., and Julian Armella are all a part of the 2022 recruiting cycle.

The latter two are already considered blue-chip players and current commit Travis Hunter Jr. is arguably the best player in the country.

The other commit, Nyjalik Kelly, is a three-star but will be a blue-chip player once rankings are updated. Hester would be a nice bookend with Kelly, who lists as a strong-side defensive end.
