FSU football: Noles make top 8 for 2022 four-star WR Peter Kikwata
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has one 2022 wide receiver high on them.
FSU football coaches are looking to add the best players possible to get the program back to where it’s supposed to be.
They have two commitments and have sent out over 240 scholarship offers for the 2022 recruiting cycle.
Unlike the previous coaching staff, Mike Norvell has done a better job of getting offers out to future classes while trying to close its current recruiting class.
Those relationships should pay off as long as they can eventually have recruits to visit campus.
Saturday, blue-chip wide receiver Peter Kikwata listed the Noles in his top eight schools via his Twitter account:
Kikwata hails from Germantown, Maryland, and has 18 offers from the likes of FSU, Maryland, Duke, Arkansas, Miami, Kentucky, Georgia Tech, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Virginia, West Virginia, and others.
He checks in at 6’1″ and 170 pounds and is considered the No. 321 ranked player nationally, No. 47 wide receiver, and the No. 7 player in the state of Maryland.
The Noles offered Kikwata on July 31, so it’s great to see they’re in the mix, although they were the last of the teams on the list to do so.
Maryland could be the team to beat since they are the hometown team, and Kikwata is a huge fan of former Terps standout receiver Stephon Diggs.
The Noles will likely sign 3-4 wide receivers in its 2021 recruiting class, so they can be more selective with who they choose to take in 2022.
I’d have to think there are several comparable wide receivers in the state of Florida. It’s an area I’d like to see the coaching staff turn more of their focus, especially when players are allowed to take visits again.
Stay tuned, but at least the Noles are in the mix for a blue-chip player.
