FSU football: Thoughts on modified schedule with Duke and Wake Forest
By Kelvin Hunt
Money
A lot of college football programs are hemorrhaging money, and FSU football is in no position to lose money. The program has lost two home games(Clemson and Virginia), which has likely cost them millions.
The chance to play Duke will offset those losses a bit, at least, but the program still lost money in the long run.
The other positive of getting a home game is the opportunity for the local businesses in Tallahassee to reap some of the benefits of 10-15K fans spending money in the area.
The lack of success of FSU football has cost local businesses big-time due to lower game attendance over the past couple of years.
The Wake Forest game is a road game, but it’s likely the Noles could make some money on the TV side of things.
All in all, the addition of these two games for FSU football has way more benefits than negatives. I also want to take a moment to thank all of you that have joined the Seminole Booster program over the last couple of days.
The support has been tremendous and the momentum needs to continue. I was surprised at the number of fans who didn’t know how to become a booster. You can do so right here in a matter of minutes.
