FSU football: Thoughts on modified schedule with Duke and Wake Forest

Program Momentum
I can’t like, the past few days have felt like the program was in a free fall. All of the negative publicity from having to postpone back-to-back games(a lot of that was out of FSU’s control) coupled with the players opting-out and the top recruit in the 2021 class leaving was tough to swallow.
However, scheduling these two games allows Mike Norvell an opportunity to change the perception of the program.
Duke and Wake Forest are both winnable games with a healthy Jordan Travis at quarterback.
I’m not saying they are going to win both games or even one of them, but it’s an opportunity to get some needed momentum going into the offseason.
It’s something to build upon for the players, and something the coaches can sell on the recruiting trail.
FSU coaches will be relying on the transfer portal quite a bit to finish out the 2021 recruiting class. All these players need to see is some level of competency and where they fit into the plan.
