Parting Thoughts

FSU losing Luke Altmyer isn’t a good look, and I’m sure the coaching staff did all they could to keep him. At the end of the day, the young man had to make the best decision for him.

However, it’s all about results, and that’s on the staff to fill the need for a quarterback in the 2021 recruiting cycle.

A graduate transfer is what this program needs to stabilize things, after all, look at what D’Eriq King did for Miami this year. Their offense isn’t elite, but it’s drastically improved compared to last year.

The task for the coaching staff is finding the right fit to help get a good kick-off of the bottom to begin the ascension back to the top.

The other part is landing a quality quarterback to set up for success in the future while developing the quarterbacks on the roster.

I know I mentioned moving Jordan Travis to wide receiver next year. I know I mentioned he’s dynamic with the ball in his hand, but the other reason is because of FSU’s lack of depth at the position wide receiver position. He instantly adds depth and could be a needed playmaker for the offense.

There are several quarterbacks in the transfer portal with likely more to join the list in the coming days/weeks. It would be great to see the coaching staff grab a quality player to help offset the negativity surrounding Altmyer’s de-commitment.
