FSU football: Dabo Swinney is really mad with Florida State
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has gotten under the skin of Dabo Swinney.
FSU football head coach Mike Norvell responded to questions Monday, the way a person in a leadership position should when talking about Clemson and Dabo Swinney.
It was a master class session in how to be classy, but also direct and supportive of his players and support staff at the same time.
Mike Norvell mentioned he tried to call Dabo Swinney Saturday morning and was not able to get up with him. Apparently, Swinney did not call him back and has not attempted to do so.
Yet, Swinney continues to do countless interviews and speak nonsense about the game being postponed Saturday.
Here’s the latest from him Monday night:
Mike Norvell never said Clemson didn’t follow protocol. He only spoke about how FSU football has done things, so they haven’t had a positive COVID-19 test since mid-September.
That’s something Dabo Swinney can’t come close to saying, as a large number of their players have been infected over the past few months.
Swinney wasn’t done with the verbal tirade Tuesday morning as he spoke to reporters:
Mike Norvell has proven he’s more capable of keeping his team safe from COVID-19. That’s just the facts. I know who I would trust if I had to choose between the two in following protocols that would keep my child as safe as possible and he doesn’t wear orange.
The fact Dabo Swinney continues to behave like a 10-year that got their toy taken away is alarming. I joke about it, but it’s sad a guy at his age behaves like a petulant child. A man with character would pick up the phone and settle any differences with Mike Norvell instead of saying things like this to the media.
I shouldn’t be surprised, as he’s someone that has allowed coaches to use derogatory terms at practice without any type of punishment. He’s someone that blatantly lies and expects to get away with it:
He’s a guy that continues to be tone-deaf with using terms like “some of these people” in statements:
Dabo Swinney’s program is riding high right now, but all things come full circle. I hope he’ll be prepared when the shoes on the other foot.
I’m not sure he can take things as well as he likes to dish it. That’s how most immature people who lack class behave.
