FSU football fans are not happy with how the team played against NC State.

FSU football fans wanted Mike Norvell to go with a youth movement. A lot of fans have been screaming for Chubba Purdy to get reps at the quarterback position.

Well, you got what you wanted and must be sorely disappointed with the results. I’ve been trying to temper people’s expectations about playing a quarterback that didn’t early enroll and missed most of fall camp with an injury.

A lot of fans were complaining about the playcalling, but Purdy is probably only comfortable with running about 20 percent of the playbook.

I don’t understand why Mike Norvell went to Tate Rodemaker when he did as I thought that drive would have been great for Purdy right before the half.

I would have played Tate Rodemaker at the beginning of the third quarter if they had plans to play him in the game.

I also wasn’t thrilled with the number of wildcat plays after the game was basically over. Those are opportunities for the quarterback to continue to get reps in the offense.

The call to go for it on fourth down deep in their territory wasn’t the right call. I understand it was fourth and one and the FSU defense hasn’t been able to get many stops. However, it was the FIRST quarter, and the turnover on downs essentially gave the Wolfpack seven points to make it 14-0. The ironic thing was the defense was able to force a punt on the Wolfpack’s next possession.

The good thing is the guys did play hard during the game. The offense was limited with a freshman QB, patchwork offensive line, and wide receivers that haven’t been trustworthy.

The FSU defense played well against the run for the most part, but NC State could have run slants every play and been unstoppable. Chubba Purdy did seem to settle in a bit in the second-half and made some solid decisions without turning the ball over.
