FSU Football sets their sights on a fresh start and program rebuild

Around 11:00 AM EST, with first-year Head Coach Mike Norvell sitting at the podium and the Florida State beat anxiously awaiting what their coach had to say, the FSU Football fan base found out just what many of them may have thought as this season unfolded; it is time for a rebuild.

Skepticism surrounding what this press conference would hold started earlier in the week when Mike Norvell spoke and noted that he would address personnel moving further on Wednesday. He did just that. Not even two minutes into the presser, Norvell started to break the news about players either leaving the program or being out for the rest of the season.

Former starting QB James Blackman expressed to his most recent head coach his desire to transfer following his graduation from Florida State at the end of this semester. Senior DT Marvin Wilson will miss the remainder of his season following a procedure due to an injury to his knee, ultimately ending the leader out of Texas’ stay in Tallahassee. And last but not least, WR Tamorrion Terry, who was said to be “no longer with the team” without explanation as to the circumstances behind it.

All three of these players have been through tons during their time with the FSU Football program. They started as fan favorites who could be relied upon to the right the sinking ship that was and is Florida State football, but as a player, you can only do so much. So now, the youth movement will be in full force as we round out the 2020 college football season and look ahead to future days within our program. The effects of this will be felt, not only in the short term but also in the long term. I aim to provide as many clarifications as I can to what ‘Nole nation should expect moving forward.
