FSU football goes into another game as betting underdogs.

FSU football was on the wrong side of another beatdown in their last outing against Pittsburgh Saturday night.

They’ll go into their game against NC State as near touchdown underdogs when they take on NC State in Raleigh Saturday night.

It’s been a place of horrors for the Noles over the past years, including the last time FSU football traveled to Raleigh in 2018.

The Action Network has the over/under set at 60 points, which indicates an implied score of 33-27.

It’s going to be a hard game to predict, as NC State’s offense put up 41 points last week in a three-point loss to Miami behind former FSU football quarterback Bailey Hockman.

Hockman was the starter last year when the Wolfpack came to Doak Campbell Stadium, and the FSU defense physically beat him down in what was one of the best defensive efforts in 2019.

It should be noted the only reason Hockman is playing now is that NC State lost its starting quarterback to injury a couple of games below. FSU has questions going into this game too.

Will Chubba Purdy get his first career start with Jordan Travis getting hurt against Pittsburgh? Which players will suit up for the Noles on defense? They were without Marvin Wilson, Travis Jay, Renardo Green against Pittsburgh.

Offensive lineman Devontay Love-Taylor was injured early in the Pittsburgh game which helped turn the tide for the Pittsburgh defense. Does Tamorrion Terry try to play again after looking less than 100 percent in his return against Pittsburgh?

What’s the mindset of this FSU team? They’ve been taken to the woodshed in back-to-back games by teams with losing records, and could be starting a freshman quarterback with less than 60 career snaps under his belt.

The good news is the players are still playing hard although they are not getting the desired results. I’m surprised the betting line is only near a touchdown, but we’ll see if that changes as the week progresses.
