Duke

Duke is a game I thought the Noles would win fairly decisively before the season began because Duke is usually terrible, and the Noles have never lost to them.

The Blue Devils are (2-4) with wins over Syracuse and FCS Charlotte. They are averaging 5.33 yards per play and 25.9 points per game.

Advanced metrics have Duke with the No. 110 offense and No. 34 ranked defense.

It’s a game I think FSU football would win if I had any confidence in the defense. The good news is, Duke isn’t good at all on offense and does not feature a mobile quarterback.

I hope the FSU defense will get better with more games and practices under their belt, but that remains to be seen.

As of now, I’m not comfortable saying the Noles will defeat the Blue Devils because of how the defense has performed.

However, I must admit the Noles have faced the No. 5, No. 10, No. 16, and No. 44 ranked offenses in four of their six games.

The only problem is the defense only looked like they had a pulse in three-quarters of that stretch.

If the FSU defense can get it together, they can run the table in the second half aside from the Clemson game. If they continue to suck? They could lose at least three of those games.
