A good win from FSU football brings a new perspective to the team, coaching staff, and the future of the Seminoles program.

The Seminoles thankfully emerged from their pancake game victorious. It was a shaky start after a pick-six from freshman quarterback Tate Rodemaker and another Jacksonville State touchdown shortly after put FSU in a 14-0 hole early.

Early in the second quarter, Norvell decided to play Jordan Travis for the duration of the game; A decision that saved FSU from a new all-time low. Until that point, the fanbase was turning on one another, and one of the more stable college football programs continued its free fall.

Travis didn’t waste time, throwing a 41-yard touchdown pass to Keyshawn Helton to get the Noles on the board. The defense held JSU to 10 points for the rest of the game, and the Seminole offense scored touchdowns on five of their remaining six drives, and the only one they didn’t score on was stopped by two holding penalties.

The game became a Rorschach test for the fanbase. The pessimists among us negated the positives by saying, “It was Jacksonville State,” while the optimists insisted that everything is fixed.

I’m sitting in both camps, I understand the quality of the opponent we faced, but the positives I saw in this game hold no matter the competition. With that in mind, here are my five takeaways from the win against Jacksonville State.
