FSU Football may have a ton of draft-eligible players depart. Here is what I think about which players will stay and where the ones who leave will go in the draft.

A little bit about me and projecting talent: the first time I did a mock draft, I was more right than Mel Kiper and Todd McShay, just as an aside to demonstrate my expertise.

The draft tends to correct itself from year to year, and I think defensive talent will be an early focus after being heavy on offensive selections last year. I project that defensive players will go early and often. They are easier to project than offenses, especially with COVID canceling seasons for some of the biggest offenses, and a couple of high flying attackers are missing out this year.

This article is a compiled list of draft-eligible Seminoles who I anticipate will stay in the college ranks and who I think will leave after the season, and if they leave, a projection of where they could go in the draft.

The NFL’s eligibility rules are as follows: “To be eligible for the draft, players must have been out of high school for at least three years and must have used up their college eligibility before the start of the next college football season. Underclassmen and players who have graduated before using all their college eligibility may request the league’s approval to enter the draft early.”

What this says is that anyone who is a redshirt sophomore or above is eligible to enter the draft. However, it is all upon request. The most famous, or infamous, example of a redshirt sophomore entering the draft is Jameis Winston, and we all have seen how that career has turned out.

I only have one ground rule; I will exclude the current redshirt sophomores from my list as they will all likely remain on the team. I will do this while remembering they are permitted to enter the draft and the likelihood that season is considered a wash due to COVID-19.
