FSU football recruiting has seen its fair share of criticism among the fan base. Here are three thoughts on how it’s going.

FSU football fans, I love you, and I know its tough to take emotion out of the equation based on how the past few seasons have gone.

The passion to win and be great again is one of the best things about being an FSU football fan. Few fan bases can relate, and that’s great company to be in.

However, there are times when we have to set that emotion aside and look at reality and logic.

This spring and summer are one of those times ladies and gentlemen. There are two main factors beyond this FSU football staff’s control that are inhibiting the progress needed to yield the results the FSU football fan base wants.

  • Mostly brand new staff
  • COVID-19

The staff was acclimating well before COVID-19 shut everything down in the spring. They showed the ability to get blue-chip players on-campus along with high school coaching staff.

It’s safe to say things were trending in the right direction. Despite the limitations of not being able to host recruits on campus or to have them on campus to observe practice, FSU still has the highest-ranked recruiting class of any program with a new head coach.

Let’s get into three thoughts about recruiting.
