FSU football: Ranking 5 most important games on 2020 schedule
By Kelvin Hunt
West Virginia
I know you’re looking at this like why do I have the West Virginia game as more important than rivalry games or ACC games?
That’s a simple answer. The perception of the season is riding on the outcome of this game.
It’s a game FSU is slightly favored to win on a neutral field that’ll be more of a home field advantage for FSU than the Mountaineers.
If FSU wins this game it sets the tone for the rest of the season. A loss immediately interjects failure and disappoint into a fan base that mostly wants to believe Mike Norvell is the man for the job.
A loss would be a hard pill to swallow considering FSU is more talented and West Virginia wasn’t a good team last season. A win sets FSU up to go into Boise State 2-0 on the road with some momentum and self-confidence.
That’s something the Noles have lacked the past few seasons, walking onto the field believing they’re going to smash whoever is lining up against them.
Confidence is everything in sports and starting off on the right foot against West Virginia would send a message FSU football is on the rise again.
