FSU football coaches are still hard at work evaluating players in the 2022 recruiting cycle. Their latest offer is from South Carolina.

FSU football had made up a lot of ground on its 2022 recruiting board as the coaching staff has offered over 170 recruits thus far.

It’s one positive from the pandemic shutting down recruiting visits as it’s given the coaches time to evaluate more tape while beginning to form the relationships needed with the players they covet.

Their latest offer goes on the defensive side of the ball to a four-star cornerback Jeadyn Lukus from Mauldin, South Carolina.

He announced the offer via his Twitter account Monday evening:

Thoughts

He checks in at 6’1″ and 175 pounds and is considered the No. 82 ranked player nationally, No. 11 cornerback, and No. 2 player in South Carolina according to 247 Sports.

Lukus does not have a composite ranking at this time but holds 21 offers from the likes of FSU, Florida, Auburn, Clemson, Arkansas, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Penn State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and others.

Most of his offers have come during the pandemic that shut down campus visits. He hasn’t had a chance to visit anywhere outside of attending a summer camp at Clemon in 2019.

Clemson leads the 247 Sports Crystal Ball Predictions with two votes, with both predictions placed on June 1.

FSU will bring in multiple defensive backs in the 2021 class, so they can afford to be more selective in who they pursue in 2022. Lukus would fit the bill as he has excellent size and length with another two years to physically mature.

As with all recruits, it’ll be important to watch where they visit once things begin to open up. I’d imagine Clemson’s the team to beat here for the No. 2 player in-state.
