FSU football balance sheet: Noles in the black despite last three seasons

Despite having the last three seasons well below expectations, FSU football is in the black and could surprise some people in 2020.

FSU football has gone 18-20 over the last three seasons and is now with its third coaching staff since 2017.

They’ve experienced three of their weaker recruiting classes in recent years and only had nine players drafted in the last three years.

The program decided to hit the reset button by firing Willie Taggart after an embarrassing loss to Miami last year.

It was the final straw as the FSU administration decided to assemble the required millions to buy him out of his contract.

They decided to hire Mike Norvell after an extensive coaching search that lasted for weeks. However, Norvell’s name was always in the mix, and he’s done a great job thus far despite unprecedented obstacles off the field.

There are some areas of concern on the field, but we won’t know how those will be addressed until an actual game is played. I feel confident in the direction of the program, and here’s why the Noles are in the black despite the last three seasons.
