FSU football is looking to recruit the best players whether they are in high school, JUCO, or the transfer portal. The latest offer is to a JUCO player.
FSU football recruiting is in grind mode at the moment. The staff is trying to navigate everything virtually while trying to establish some momentum on the recruiting trails.
They’ve been active in every facet, the transfer portal, high school players and have recently sent out some JUCO offers.
The latest goes to the top-rated JUCO player in the 2021 class, cornerback De’Jahn Warren.
Warren announced the FSU offer via his Twitter account Monday night:
Warren hails from Hyattsville, Maryland, and attends Lackawanna Community College. He’s considered the No. 1 cornerback and No. 1 overall prospect in the JUCO ranks for 2021.
He was originally part of the 2019 recruiting cycle and didn’t have a composite ranking.
He checks in at 6’1″ and 175 pounds while holding 30 offers from the likes of FSU, Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Auburn, Penn State, Georgia, Maryland, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Louisville, and a host of other programs.
Penn State is the clear favorite at the moment with all six votes on 247 Sport’s crystal ball predictions.
Thoughts
I’m a little surprised by the offer to a JUCO cornerback, but he is listed as the top-rated JUCO player and was a JUCO All-American as a freshman last season.
The Noles could lose Asante Samuel Jr. after next season and only signed one cornerback in the 2020 recruiting class in Demorie Tate.
Warren could be a player that would come in and compete for a starting job in 2021. The Noles are a little late to the party with many of his offers coming in February and March of this year.
It’s likely an uphill battle, but we’ll see how it shakes out for the Noles.
