FSU football running back Cam Akers is the first Nole drafted in 2020. Fans react to the news of him getting picked by the Los Angeles Rams.
Cam Akers’ dream of playing in the NFL became a reality Friday night when he was selected by the Los Angles Rams, with the No. 52 pick overall in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Akers is a player who can compete for playing time as a rookie as Todd Gurley was let go earlier last year after a reduced role and injuries.
Akers continues to follow in the footsteps of Dalvin Cook, who was also drafted in the second round a couple of years ago.
A lot of analysts and fans think Akers is one of the most underrated players in the draft. Check out FSU football fan reactions to him seeing his dream come true:

Thoughts
Cam Akers is going to be a heck of a running back in the NFL. The only knock on him has been the lack of an offensive line and a slight issue with fumbling the ball which can be corrected.
He’s durable, shifty, accelerates to the second level well, and can be a playmaker out of the backfield in the passing game.
He’s also a willing blocker in pass protection which is something a lot of running backs struggle with. He’s projected as a player that will likely be a starter in the NFL with the potential to be a Pro Bowl running back.
The good news is he goes into a situation with the Rams who were in the Super Bowl just a couple of years ago and also joins former Nole Jalen Ramsey.
