FSU football: Is Rashad Greene a top 3 all-time receiver?
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football has had some prolific wide receivers to wear the garnet and gold. Is Rashad Greene one of the three greatest Nole wide receivers of all-time?
Last week I was asked to write about FSU football and the players I would place on the program’s Mt. Rushmore.
Let me tell you, that was incredibly difficult as I began the painstaking task of eliminating some of the best college players we’ve seen in our lifetime.
There were players like Marvin Jones, Derrick Brooks, Warrick Dunn, and several others that didn’t make it. You can view the list here, but I will tell you Peter Warrick made it, and it got me thinking.
Who would I consider to be the best wide receivers of all-time at FSU? Of course, Warrick is one if he’s on my FSU football Mt. Rushmore. One name I kept coming back to was Rashad Greene.
Maybe it’s because he’s arguably the best wide receiver FSU has had since Peter Warrick, but I thought to myself. Out of all the wide receivers in FSU history, would Rashad Greene be in the top three?
That’s a tough question I had to think about and do some research. There are different eras, different rules, and some players played all four years while others only played two or three. So we know Warrick is No. 1, but could we put Greene ahead of players like Ron Sellers, Fred Biletnikoff, or Kez McCorvey?
