FSU basketball took a blowout win over Boston College and a Louisville loss against Virginia to win its first outright ACC regular season championship.
No. 7 FSU basketball (26-5, 16-4 ACC) has won its first ACC regular season championship with a 80-62 win over Boston College (13-18, 7-13 ACC).
The Noles went undefeated (16-0) on its home court this season as it has become one of the toughest places to play in the nation.
Seniors Trent Forrest and Dominik Olejniczak were honored before the game. Olejniczak scored a career high 14 points with five rebounds on 7 of 10 shooting.
Forrest played 20 minutes in the blowout, finishing with six points and three rebounds.

The waiting is over!!!!! After 29 seasons, FSU has won a regular season ACC basketball championship - something I’m not sure I ever expected to see (and certainly not this season).

Thoughts
Leonard Hamilton should win ACC Coach of the Year and be in consideration for NCAA Coach of the Year.
He took a team that was picked to finish fifth in the ACC and won the conference outright with nowhere near the talent some of the blue blood programs have.
They’ll be the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament with a double-bye, needing only three wins for its second ACC Tournament Title.
The Boston College game wasn’t its best game by any stretch as they didn’t shoot the ball well at only 42.5 percent.
The Noles were just 5 of 26 from beyond the arc, but only turned the ball over nine times while winning the rebounding battle fairly easily. They struggled at the free throw line, going 13 of 22 but the game was well in-hand after the first 10 minutes or so.
FSU basketball will likely be a No. 2 seed in the NCAA Tournament barring some major change among the NCAA Tournament landscape. That would be their highest seeding ever. What a time to be alive as a FSU basketball fan.
