FSU football wrapped up most of its 2020 recruiting class Wednesday with no major surprises. Here are three observations from the class.

FSU football could add a couple of graduate transfer players later this spring, but adding players from the high school ranks is a wrap at this point.

There were 25 players signed and four players from the transfer portal in the recruiting class.

The blue-chip ratio is 32 percent which is the lowest blue-chip ratio I can recall.

Four-star wide receiver commit Malachi Wideman flipping to Tennessee on National Signing Day dropped the Noles from No. 20 to No. 22 in the final rankings.

I’m reading a lot of negative comments from FSU football fans regarding the recruiting class. I wrote weeks ago about several factors that would impact the final rankings.

I’m not sure what their expectations were but it’s clear some don’t understand the dynamics of the early signing period.

Also, while FSU football is still a recognizable brand, it’s not like the program has looked the best over the last three seasons with a record of 18-20.

It could be time to realize it’s not the mid-’90s and FSU isn’t in the midst of its 14 year run of finishing top five in the country. Nevertheless, here are three observations from the 2020 recruiting class.
