FSU football still has a need for running backs in the 2020 recruiting class. Here’s why they should take a chance on five-star Zachary Evans.

FSU football finds itself in a decent spot with 2020 five-star running back Zachary Evans. The one time Georgia commit is ranked No. 11 overall and the No. 1 ranked running back in the nation.

According to reports, Georgia seems to have moved on from the five-star recruit who tried to sign with them during the early signing period.

There seem to be a few red flags with Evans that Georgia wasn’t particularly fond of. It’s something that’s not uncommon with elite recruits, and coaches often have to walk a fine line deciding if a player is worth the risk.

Evans apparently is on the radar of the FSU coaching staff and could be visiting Tallahassee before National Signing Day in February.

This could be a tricky decision for Mike Norvell. Would signing Evans be worth the risk for a program that has had a few players that have caused problems in the past few years?

That’s not saying Evans would definitely cause problems because he hasn’t been given that opportunity yet.

However, would it be worth the risk for a program that hasn’t signed a composite five-star player since 2017?

Absolutely, so let’s talk about why that’s the case.
