FSU football: Mike Norvell talks first month in Tallahassee (audio)
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football head coach Mike Norvell gave his thoughts on the first month he’s been head coach of the Noles.
FSU football head coach Mike Norvell hasn’t spoken with media since talking about the players the Noles signed during December’s Early Signing Period.
Of course Coach Norvell recently completed the hiring process of his coaching staff and they spoke with the media for the first time Wednesday.
He recently appeared on the Sports Brothers Podcast and spoke about what’s been happening during his first month on the job in Tallahassee.
The entire interview can be heard at the link below or here. The actual interview begins at the 14:45 mark.
Thoughts
It sounds like the transition has gone really well with how they finished the Early Signing Period and being able to meet with each player individually whether they were staying or moving on.
Norvell was smart to curtail the question about how quickly FSU can win a national championship. It’s clear he knows the program has work to do but also clear that there is the expectation to win.
I think that’s evident by how hard the coaching staff is working to fill the holes on the current roster in regards to the offensive line. Coach Norvell consistently talks about having a plan and it’s something the coaches on the staff have mentioned as well.
I think that’s what most FSU football fans are most excited about. There’s a coach with a plan that has seen recent success being joined by other coaches that believe in him and want to help him get FSU football back to where it’s supposed to be.
