FSU basketball may finally be getting some respect after its beatdown of No. 7 Louisville Saturday. The Noles crack the top 10 rankings.

FSU basketball (13-2, 3-1 ACC) has cracked the top 10 rankings in the latest polls released Monday.

The Noles jumped eight spots after taking down No. 7 Louisville Saturday afternoon. They have rattled off six consecutive wins since losing on the road against Indiana on December 4th.

The jump coincided with the big win and seven teams previously ranked in front of the Noles losing last week.

The Noles jumped from No. 19 to No. 13 in the KenPom rankings. The offense improved from No. 39 to No. 27 after their incredible efficiency against the Cardinals.

Defensively, they check in at No. 19 in the country.

The Noles will be in a huge letdown spot when they travel to Winston-Salem Wednesday night to take on the Wake Forest Demon Deacon (8-5, 1-2 ACC) for a 7:30 p.m. ET tip.

ESPN’s basketball power index give the Noles a 70.1 percent chance to win and should go in as sizable betting favorites.

FSU basketball always seems to follow-up an impressive performance like Louisville with a dude against someone like Wake Forest. We saw it last year, playing well enough to beat Duke but allowing that loss to turn into another loss against a terrible Pittsburgh team in the next game.

The schedule sets up nicely for the Noles as they have a number of winnable games coming up. They play Wake Forest, No. 19 Virginia(2x), Miami, Notre Dame and a very down UNC squad in the next couple of weeks.

A strong performance in that stretch virtually guarantees them a spot in the NCAA Tournament as the Noles were slated as a No. 5 seed in the projected field prior to the huge win over Louisville.
