No. 10 Clemson at No. 4 FSU 2012

37. 879. 49. 804. Final

This is arguably my most favorite game aside from the national championship game and the first ACC primetime game between two top 10 schools in forever,

In fact, I like this game better than the 2013 game because FSU faced way more adversity and overcame it in front of their home crowd.

The Noles entered the game as -14.5 point favorites, but faced an amped up Clemson team early on.

Clemson jumped out to a 21-14 halftime lead and were pulling out all the stops with tricks plays and all.

They pushed the lead to 28-14 early in the third quarter but saw FSU respond with a huge play by Kelvin Benjamin on a shovel pass from EJ Manuel to spark the Noles.

It was pretty much all Noles from that point. It was a game that saw FSU’s strength and conditioning advantage come into play late in the game(there’s no way we could say that now).

Manuel had a huge game going for 380 yards on 27 of 35 attempts with two touchdowns. He also added 102 yards on 11 carries. Chris Thompson had 103 rushing yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns and added 79 receiving yards on eight receptions.

James Wilder Jr. had two rushing touchdowns and one of the best runs of the decade where he broke a run up the middle while breaking tackles and toting about six Clemson defenders 10 or more yards before going down.

This as a huge win at the time that was wasted later in the season with the second half collapse against NC State.
