Splash Hire

James Franklin would fit the mold of a splash hire for the Noles. He’s a proven coach who’s won at multiple places and name most casual college football fans would recognize.

Remember the perception hit FSU took when Jimbo Fisher left for Texas A&M? Well, hiring James Franklin from Penn State would give more credence to FSU football being a destination job again.

I know it’s a top 10 job, but the perception of the program is a mess at the moment. This would be viewed as a power move by the Noles to get back to prominence.

Not only that, Franklin would be a name that I’d think most FSU football fans would respect and continue to open up their wallets for.

FSU President John Thrasher has already asked for Seminole Boosters to up their pledges by 20 percent.

A name like Franklin would likely influence most boosters to do so. It would also bring excitement back to the program with a fan base thirsty for some type of success.

I don’t think hiring the likes of Matt Campbell, Mike Norvell, Brian Kelly or Odell Haggins would invoke the same excitement as Franklin.
