Sign of New Coach?

Some FSU fans are equating David Kelly being let go as a sign a new coaching hire is a done deal of sorts.

After all, recruiting is the life blood of a program and one of the first things a new coach will tackle right?

Or, maybe folk believe the FSU administration is going to hire Odell Haggins since the move was made while he’s the interim coach?

I don’t think it’s either really. It is peculiar they waited until this week to make the move, but it could have been because they didn’t have a game to prepare for?

Well, I don’t think the new hire is going to be Odell Haggins. A new coach likely won’t be hired until after the season is over, so it’s not like a new recruiting coordinator will be hired before then.

That means the move wasn’t made because FSU knows who they were going to hire. Kelly’s contract was set to expire after the season was over anyways, so the likelihood of him being retained was minimal anyways.

So, it simply looks like Odell Haggins thought it was best to get another coach on the field at a position that needs all the help they can get.

The only way to do that was to remove a coach that didn’t have on-field duties which was David Kelly.
