FSU football used every trick in the book – and what seems to be every player – to come back in the second half and get a much needed win.

For the first half of action on Saturday, the FSU football team looked like they had quite an uphill climb against a Boston College team they had barely beaten last season – but a comeback that may go down in history could have just made the Seminoles a team that could be bowling at the end of this season.

The Seminoles used a 28 point second half, including two touchdowns after letting the Eagles come back and tie the game with under three minutes to go, and got the 38-31 win that evened their record at 5-5 on the season with the home finale next weekend against FCS foe Alabama State coming up.

Down 14-10 at the half, it was the legs of quarterback Jordan Travis – who transferred to FSU football this offseason and hadn’t seen the field this season – that gave the Seminoles a lead they wouldn’t give back on a long run to open the third quarter.

The Seminoles would extend the lead to 10 points before giving that lead back with a Boston College comeback that ended with a rushing touchdown that tied the game at 24 with under three minutes to go.

That would be more than enough time for the Seminoles to do their damage as James Blackman, who returned to start for the Noles this week, connected with DJ Matthews for the 60 yard touchdown pass that gave the Seminoles a lead they would not relinquish.

Travis would seal the game with just over a minute ago and a long touchdown run that sent the home fans packing as the Seminoles left Boston with the seven point victory that evened the record at .500 and made bowl eligibility look a lot more realistic and gave interim coach Odell Haggins his third win as leader of the team in his career.

FSU football will now face the Hornets next weekend in the home finale before ending the season on November 30th against the rival Florida Gators on the road.
