FSU football has won back-to-back conference games and has looks light years better than last year. Here’s my top five observations going into the bye week.

FSU football may have just played its most complete game since destroying Boston College 45-7 in 2016.

Ironically, that was a 7:30 p.m. night game at Doak Campbell Stadium with nearly 74,000 fans in attendance.

The Noles are coming off a dominant 31-13 win over NC State, a team that had beaten them in consecutive seasons.

The win moves FSU football over .500 for the first time since they were (4-3) after beating Wake Forest in late October 2018.

Of course, FSU went on to finish the season 1-4 en route to missing a bowl game for the first time in almost 40 years.

The first give games of the season have been a roller coaster of emotions for the Noles. The first half against Boise State looked like FSU fixed most of their issues and were well on their way back to competing with the better teams in the nation.

However, a second week overtime scare against Louisiana-Monroe had FSU fans reeling and doubting the direction of the program.

However, a close road loss against top 25 ranked Virginia seemed to show progress in the right direction. A home win against Louisville seemed to follow a familiar script, but FSU flipped that script and again progress seemed to be made in the right direction.

The win Saturday night over NC State seemed to validate the previous two games as the Noles looked like a team on the verge of turning the corner.

Was it a perfect game? Not even close, but it was their most complete game from an execution, momentum and playing as a team in all three phases standpoint.

FSU now heads into its bye week with some confidence with two huge back-to-back road games in Clemson and Wake Forest.

Let’s take a look at my top five observations heading into the bye week.
