Possible Replacement

With Jaiden Lars-Woodbey out the Noles will likely turn to redshirt freshman linebacker Amari Gainer as his replacement.

The former four-star Tallahassee native linebacker played in four games last season before redshirting while battling injuries.

He filled in admirably for Lars-Woodbey against Louisville, finishing with five tackles (three solo) for the game. He went into the Louisville game with four tackles on the young season through four games.

Gainer is roughly the same size as Lars-Woodbey and was accustomed to playing sideline-to-sideline as a linebacker in high school.

That experience should serve well as he’ll be playing in space a bit more in this role as outside linebacker. After Gainer it gets interesting as he’s clearly not very experienced as a redshirt freshman.

The good news is FSU has some other bodies they can throw out there too if they get in a pinch.

The only thing issue is the coaching staff had just seemed to figure out the best way to have Leonard Warner III and Lars-Woodbey on the field and be productive.
