FSU football was more of the same against Louisville. Nole fans are unbelievably upset with how FSU blew another huge lead.

FSU football tried their best to give a replay of the first three weeks.

The Noles jumped out to a 21-0 lead at the end of the first quarter and were held scoreless until a touchdown halfway in the fourth quarter that gave the Noles the lead for good after Louisville had scored 24 unanswered points.

The turning point in the game was Louisville executing a fake punt in the second quarter that ultimately led to their first touchdown.

FSU looked dead on their feet on offense and defense in the third quarter and early parts of the fourth.

Ricky Aguayo missed three field goals which would have been huge difference makers had he made them. The Noles would have been looking at a 30-10 lead at one point in the third quarter.

FSU led 21-7 at halftime but an injuries to James Blackman and Jaiden Lars-Woodbey seemed to give Louisville more momentum along with the missed field goals.

It looked as though the writing was on the wall with for FSU to fold again in the fourth quarter with Louisville marching down the field before Cyrus Fagan intercepted a pass at the FSU 13 yard line.

FSU took that possession down for a touchdown on six plays which was enough to ultimately win the game.

They won the game but it wasn’t pretty and fans were distraught in the second half:

Thoughts

I have to say I didn’t expect the Noles to pull that win out after Louisville took the lead in the fourth quarter. It’s progress I suppose as they responded last week when Virginia tied the game before ultimately losing.

The ability to basically ice the clock the final four minutes of the game was huge. It was also good to see them punch the ball in for the final touchdown to put a exclamation point on the win to cover the spread for the second straight week.

I’m not sure what James Blackman’s status is but Alex Hornibrook looks good at times in limited duty and could likely start against NC State last week.

dark. Next. Alex Hornibrook playing against Louisville is slick

It’s great to finally win a game like that and hopefully the Noles can build on the win and get another one next week against NC State.
