FSU football: How to watch Virginia game and best bets
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football will play against No. 25 Virginia Saturday at 7:30 p.m. Here’s the best way to watch the game and my best bets.
FSU football struggled mightily in the second half last week against Louisiana-Monroe before securing its first win of the season in overtime.
They’ll face their biggest test thus far when they travel to Virginia to take on the ACC Coastal favorite and No. 25 ranked Virginia Cavaliers (2-0).
Which FSU football team is going to show up? The team that plays well in the first half offensively or the one that folds in the second half with the defense giving up chunk plays at will?
This is a huge game for the Noles and a win could potentially change the trajectory of the program. A close loss would seem like progress, but losing by double digits likely stokes the fires that have been lit since the week one loss against Boise State.
The game will air on the ACC Network or you can listen to the game here. They are expecting a big crowd in Scott Stadium as you can see below:
The betting line is now UVA -7.5 with the over/under total at 57 according to Bovada. That means oddsmakers are expecting UVA football to win something like 31-24.
After watching FSU almost lose to Louisiana-Monroe that week that line looked too good to be true. The amazing this is over 60 percent of the money is on UVA to cover but the line hasn’t moved.
That tells me oddsmakers believe FSU has a shot in this game not to mention UVA plays at a slower pace. I know it sounds crazy, but I think I’d play the Noles to cover that betting line.
It’ll all come down to FSU’s ability to contain UVA QB Bryce Perkins and whether or not they can stop turning the ball over offensively.
I think FSU’s defense will show some improvement, but we’ll get to find out if the FSU offense is legit or not since this is the best defense they will have faced through three games.
