FSU football blew another second half lead and falls to 1-2 on the season. FSU fans were not happy with the result once again.

FSU football can not get out of its own way. This Virginia loss was a carbon copy of what this program has been about all season.

The defense looked much better in the first half and allowed 5.3 ypp with the Noles taking a 14-10 lead into the half.

They stretched the lead to 17-10 in the third quarter but the FSU defense gave up 21 points in the fourth quarter.

There were numerous penalties with the Noles committing 10 penalties for 83 yards. Just dumb penalties and poor tackling doomed the Noles in the second half.

Thoughts

Man, I don’t know what to say. I see a lot of folk wanting to blame Willie Taggart for the players committing penalties, but that’s man it’s not like he can whisper in their ears to not do something when the game is happening.

They played decently in the first half on defense (by their recent standards) and I thought they had turned the corner. However, it was more of the same in the second half.

The defense had TONS of missed tackles and blown assignments and poor play overall cost FSU a huge road win in conference play.

James Blackman didn’t have his best game either, he was inaccurate on several key throws with his receivers having several drops as well.

FSU offensive coordinator Kendal Briles had some questionable calls late in the game with Cam Akers only have 10 carries in the second half.

FSU Fans Should Temper Expectations. dark. Next

A tough loss for the Noles when they played well for about 75 percent of the game against a quality opponent.

They’ll host Louisville next week in a must-win game for any hope of making a bowl game in 2019.
