FSU football is lucky to be 1-1 going into the Virginia game and Nole fans have zero confidence FSU can beat Virginia on the road or anywhere for that matter.

The last time FSU football played Virginia was in 2014 when they were 19 point betting favorites and saw the Noles pull away late to win 34-20.

It’s five years later and the programs seem to be going in different directions. FSU is coming off a 5-7 season with Virginia coming off a 8-5 season that easily could have been 9-3 if not for a couple of tough losses.

The Noles will go on the road for the first time this season and play under the lights in Charlottesville as more than a touchdown underdogs.

That’s right, the Noles will play a SOD game against Virginia in 2019 folks. Let that sink in. The sad part? FSU fans have zero confidence the Noles will win the game much less cover the spread.

Thoughts

I mean it’s hard to disagree with the sentiments above. Yes, FSU has proven they can score at times, but Virginia will be the best defense they will have faced thus far.

Virginia has beaten Pittsburgh and William and Mary this season and held Pittsburgh to 3.7 ypp while forcing two turnovers.

It’s something they lived off of last season and the Noles have committed five turnovers through two games which is on their average from last season.

More importantly, Virginia will look to run the ball while also having a dual threat quarterback to deal with in Bryce Perkins. It helps that he isn’t a great passer, but the first two games show you don’t have to be a world beater to put up stats against this FSU defense.

One thing I’ll say as someone that’s got some experience betting. A lot of times when the betting line seems too good to be true, it usually is.

So at least there’s some hope in that sentiment eh?
