FSU football: Noles make top four with 3-star defensive tackle
By Kelvin Hunt
FSU football continues to work on the recruiting trails with the season underway. They got some good news Tuesday.
FSU football has the No. 9 recruiting class in the nation and have addressed most of their needs with 21 commitments.
One area they still need some additional help is in the trenches on the defensive side of the ball.
The Noles have one defensive tackle committed in three-star Emanuel Rogers and will need at least one more in the class.
They received some good news Tuesday when three-star defensive tackle Jeffrey M’Ba included FSU football in his top four schools.
M’Ba is considered the No. 481 player nationally and No. 44 defensive tackle in the nation. He hails from France but playing high school football in Baltimore, Maryland, and area FSU has had success recruiting over the years.
He’s listed at 6’6″ 315 pounds with a physique that’s crazy chiseled for a high school player. M’Ba has offers from 14 schools according to 247Sports.
Aside from the four schools listed, M’ba has offers from the likes of Virginia, Boston College, Arizona, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Virginia Tech and Tennessee.
It should be noted he was formerly committed to Virginia and they didn’t make his final four.
Thoughts
It would be a nice get for the Noles because they will need some big dawgs in the trenches after this year. It’s possible the Noles could lose by Marvin Wilson and Cory Durden to the NFL Draft.
It’s not like FSU football has signed any players that could come in and make a huge difference in year one. I’m not sure M’Ba could, but he at least has the size to be physically ready to play snaps as a true freshman.
His offer list is impressive for someone that hasn’t played football very long. The Noles just offered him in early July and he’s yet to visit campus yet.
That’ll be the next step, but it was impressive they made the list without that happening.
