Limit Turnovers

I’ve talked about it so much I know all the stats by heart. FSU football didn’t have a single game in 2018 where they didn’t turn the ball over.

In fact, they had two or more turnovers in eight of their 12 games, including two or more turnovers in the last five games of the season.

They had 13 interceptions and lost 13 fumbles while only recovering three fumbles on the season. So they did have some unusual fumble luck so to speak, but that’s just turning the ball over way too much.

The crazy thing is 22 of those 26 turnovers resulted in short fields for opposing offenses. That equated to roughly 30 percent of the points the defense allowed in 2018.

If the Noles don’t turn the ball over I expect them to win this game and cover the spread. If they do turn it over, hopefully it’s deep in Boise territory so it would sort of work like a good punt of sorts.
