Running Game

The FSU offense was fairly one-dimensional in 2018 as the running game was virtually non-existent.

FSU’s offensive line usually got whipped with running backs getting hit before they got to the line of scrimmage.

Then there were a few times the line opened up some nice holes FSU running backs missed and got tackled for minimal gain.

The good news is the offensive line is healthy, bigger and stronger with a sense they need to prove something after being the laughing-stock of college football the last few seasons.

Teams were able to stop the run with just five men in the box at times last year which is absurd. The running game will set up everything else in the passing game.

The vertical shots downfield to Tamorrion Terry and those routes over the middle for the tight end and slot receivers and Boise State linebackers trigger downhill to stop the run.

An effective running game will allow the Noles to go even faster with tempo which will wear down the Boise defense in the Florida humidity while also preventing them from being able to effectively set up a blitz, etc.
