Running Backs

This is a shallow unit with Cam Akers, Khalan Laborn, Anthony Grant and Deonte Sheffield.

However, it’s one of the more talented units in the nation with Akers and Laborn being former five-star recruits in the 2017 recruiting class.

All of these backs compliment one another well. Akers and Laborn have the ability to run between the tackles and catch passes out of backfield.

Grant is extremely hard to bring down and Sheffield can play a variety of roles from catching passes to flexing out wide if need be.

On paper? These running backs should put up huge numbers as long as the offensive line does a decent job of run blocking.

t’s also optimal the running backs hit the holes created by the offensive line as that didn’t happen all the time last season either.

I’d put this ranking higher if the position wasn’t so shallow. Akers is the only true proven player as Laborn has only played in two games and Grant had five rushing attempts all season in 2018.
