Special Teams

Aside from the offensive line, this was one of the worst units on the team in 2018. This unit coupled with a terrible offense was the death knell for the Noles in most of its losses last season.

Terrible decisions to return kickoffs a number of kickoffs deep in the end zone led the Noles to averaging less than 20 yards per return.

On the flip side, opponents averaged 25 yards per kickoff return and 11 yards per punt return.

Ricky Aguayo had a bad season, only making 11 of 17 field goals on the season. The scary part was five of his six misses occurred at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Logan Tyler was a bright spot unfortunately, averaging nearly seven punts per game and 43 yards per punt.

D.J. Matthews was electric at times on punt return when he had the opportunity. He only had 19 attempts but averaged 13.5 yards per return.

This unit has to be more consistent to give both the offense and defense better chances of being successful.
