FSU football is much farther ahead of the game recruiting wise than this time last year. I look at three things they need to finish off the class strong.

There’s a lot to like regarding how FSU football coaches managed to assemble its 2020 recruiting class.

The Noles are currently ranked No. 09 after landing two of the top players in the state of Florida in the past week.

They are ranked ahead of Miami (No. 10), Texas A&M (No. 11) for those still salty with Jimbo Fisher and Florida (No. 12).

FSU coaches have done a great job of locking down the state of Florida as 18 of their 21 commits hail from the Sunshine State. They have two players from nearby Georgia and one player from Louisiana.

They have 15 players committed who are ranked among the top 100 players in the state of Florida.

The concentrated effort in their backyard has allowed them land the majority of their class before the season begins while also putting emphasis on future classes.

More importantly nearly half of the current commits plan to enroll early which means they have a better opportunity to contribute on the field earlier.

Let’s take a look at the main three recruiting needs for the 2020 recruiting class.
