FSU football dealt with one of the worst offenses that the program has produced recently, and those who played against them did not hold back.

As the FSU football team is just three weeks away from the 2019 season kicking off against Boise State, the Seminoles know that the main goal this coming season is to win more games than they did in 2018 – and that’s going to start with an offensive side of the ball that was the definition of God awful last season.

We’re not just talking about a group that was having a down season as compared to what took place in the years of the dynasty era or even during the 2013 title season – this was a team that ranked 127th in the FBS when it came to the rushing offense and ranked 111th in the level when it came to total offense.

This is where we take the time to remind you that there are 130 teams in the FBS level, so to say that the FSU football team was pathetic on that side of the ball – for the most part – would not be that much of a stretch.

Think we’re just picking on the Seminoles because they had a losing season in the first year under head coach Willie Taggart? Recently, Athlon Magazine did their yearly release of the comments from coaches around the ACC about the schools they compete with each season. The anonymous comments can be sometimes truthful and sometimes just petty.

As for the Seminoles? Well, this is what they had to say about the offense.

"“They have to get better on the offensive line. They were handed a short roster, but they also didn’t look well coached at all. It killed their run game.”“Either one (James Blackman or Alex Hornibrook) will be an improvement over Deondre Francois. To put it politely, he didn’t look ‘coachable’ at times last year, and they need someone at that position in this season to help them sell their new era.”“The offense did not work at all under Walt Bell; that was a really bad fit with the players and with Taggart, and now they’re banking on Kendal Briles.”"

The worst part about it? Everything that was said about the FSU football offense…was 100 percent correct. We can sit here as fans of the Seminoles and defend our team to no end, but what we saw for the most part last season was pathetic from the Noles on that side of the ball.

Now with Briles and Taggart together running that side of the ball, there is one positive: there is really no place to go but up.
