Virginia

Virginia ended the 2018 season (8-5) by shutting out South Carolina in the Belk Bowl. Three of those wins were against the likes of Richmond, Ohio and Liberty.

They did suffer two overtime losses against two terrible teams in Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech. The other three losses were against Indiana, NC State and Pittsburgh.

They were picked No. 37 in the recently released Top 25 Preseason Coaches Poll. The Cavaliers were a scrappy team that has developed some players that were not highly recruited.

However, much like Miami in 2017, their defense relied on a ton of turnover luck in 2018. Unfortunately for them their offense nearly turned it over just as much while not being overly explosive.

They do return their starting quarterback and some key players on the defense. However, I’m not quite sold on Virginia being THAT good in 2019.

Now that the Noles have competency on offense and can they avoid shooting themselves in the foot? This should be a win in week three as there’s a huge talent disparity between the two teams.
