FSU Football knows they will have a new starting quarterback this upcoming season after the man who started the last three openers still looks for his stop.

It was just under three calendar years ago that the FSU football team thought they had found their next quarterback savior when a redshirt freshman named Deondre Francois through for over 400 yards passing and helped lead a major comeback in the opening game of the season for the Seminoles.

One season later, the Seminoles were rocked when Francois suffered a devastating knee injury in the opener against Alabama – which he sat out from for the entire season only to come back in the 2018 season and essentially lay an egg during a season where plenty of venom from the fan base turned toward Francois.

Now, thanks in part to a disturbing case involving allegations of domestic violence in a relationship with his ex, Francois now has another label on his name: a former FSU football player who is still out there looking for the next school he plans on playing for.

In the time since head coach Willie Taggart kicked Francois off the team in the early part of this year, the rumor mill has sent Francois across the state of Florida and around the country since he ended up getting his degree from Florida State University.

The popular rumor was that he was going to be transferring to Florida Atlantic University and spending his final season of football playing for the Owls – but their head coach, Lane Kiffin, confirmed last week that Francois would not be taking his talents to the Boca Raton program.

After that, there was a rumor that he was heading to the FCS level and playing for Alabama State followed by another one last week that said he was heading to Hampton – both of which have been either denied or have not been confirmed.

So, we sit here around one month until the start of the season and with fall practice for many programs like FSU football starting in the coming days – and the man who started for the Seminoles each of the last three seasons still has nowhere to go.

The seriousness of the reason why he isn’t on the Seminoles is something that should not be ignored and is likely one of the major reasons why Francois is a quarterback without a program – and putting himself in that spot is on no one else but the man who used to wear No. 12 for the Seminoles.

Instead of starting for the Noles on August 31st against Boise State, Francois may have found a school to play for by that point – but has no one to blame but himself for why these things took place.
