FSU Football: What to expect from ACC Football Kickoff event
By Jason Parker
FSU Football will send head coach Willie Taggart and two players to the state of North Carolina for the first day of the two day event on Wednesday.
For the 28th straight college football season, the FSU football team will take the field as a member of the Atlantic Coast Conference – a league that they won the title in each of their first nine seasons in, but has not made it to the conference title game since winning a third straight in the 2014 season.
The 2019 campaign will be the second straight under head coach Willie Taggart as the Seminoles look not just to bounce back from missing a bowl game for the first time in over three and a half decades, but the program’s first losing season in over four decades.
But, before FSU football can get the season started on August 31st when they face off with Boise State – and before their first conference game of the season two weeks later at Virginia – Taggart and the team will start year 28 in the ACC this coming week with the conference ‘s annual Football Kickoff event taking place in the state of North Carolina.

Here’s a quick look at what to expect from the annual event – including how the Seminoles will be kicking things off.
Location
The annual event with the media will take place in the same location where the final game of the season will take place – Charlotte, North Carolina.
When will FSU football take the stage
The Seminoles actually get things started this year – literally, they get things kicked off at the kickoff event as Taggart will be the first coach to take the stage on Wednesday morning around 11:45 a.m.
The Atlantic Division will take the stage on Wednesday – leading with Taggart and ending with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney about four and a half hours later – while the Coastal Division will take the stage on Thursday.
Which Seminoles will be attending
In addition to the head Nole in Taggart representing the program, two players from Tallahassee will be heading up to North Carolina for the event in wide receiver Tamorrion Terry and defensive tackle Marvin Wilson.
FSU football, ironically, will not have a player representative from the state of Florida – the best state for high school talent – as just two of the 28 players are from the Sunshine State in Miami LB Shaq Quarterman (Orange Park) and Wake Forest LB Justin Strnad (Palm Harbor).
