FSU Football: Ranking 5 most important games on 2019 schedule
By Kelvin Hunt
Virginia
I almost put Virginia in the No. 4 spot instead of Clemson, but Clemson’s a rivalry game and the in the same division as the Noles.
This will be the first time they’ve played Virginia since 2014 or so. However, this is still a very important game that’s looking to be a pick’em game according to oddsmakers although it’s a road game.
It’ll be the first true road game and will be at night. That’s not to say Charlottesville, Virginia, is overly intimidating, but it’ll be a tough game against a defensive minded team with the fans having a few extra hours to get riled up.
If FSU beats Boise State and then LA-Monroe a win on the road against Virginia gives them an excellent shot to go into the Clemson game undefeated and riding high with confidence.
That’s not to say FSU would then beat Clemson, but it certainly changes the trajectory and perception of the season to start out 5-0.
A loss isn’t the end of the world unless they have previously lost to Boise State. If that’s the case, a loss against Virginia would have the FSU fan base calling for someone’s job.
