FSU Football knows they are going to need big years from some of their biggest names, and the biggest could be the man in the middle of the defensive line.

If the FSU football team is going to have a season in 2019 that is much better than what took place last year in the first season under head coach Willie Taggart, they know that the biggest stars and the most talented players are going to have to show up much more than they did last season for the Seminoles.

On the defensive side of the ball, maybe the most important player to fit into that category is someone who is the first line of defense for the Seminoles – and we’re talking about junior defensive tackle Marvin Wilson.

After finishing his second season with 42 tackles and three and a half sacks for FSU football -with two of the sacks coming in a game against rival Miami – Wilson has plenty of people expecting big things from him during this third season, a year that could up his draft stock if he decides to leave school early after this upcoming season.

Of the group of people expecting big things from Wilson, one group would be the editors over at College Football News – which said that he is the third best defensive tackle in all of college football entering the 2019 season for the Seminoles.

"“The one-time super-recruit started to shine as a sophomore, and now it’s his time to break through as one of the nation’s best defensive linemen. The 6-5, 314-pound top NFL prospect can move, is strong agains the run, and showed what he could do (in 2018).”"

There is no doubt that Wilson had a big step up between years one and two for FSU football – as the former five star recruit went from seven tackles total during an injury shortened 2017 season to the numbers shown last year – and has the capability to do even more for the garnet and gold in 2019.

Taggart and the Seminoles know that Wilson is also going to be one of the vocal leaders in the upcoming year, as he was selected as one of the team’s representatives for the upcoming ACC media days later this month.

light. More. Why FSU Football can (but won’t) win 10 games in 2019

If Wilson does have the year for FSU football that many of the experts expect in 2019, things could be very good, very quickly for the man wearing No. 21 and the entire defensive unit for the Seminoles.
