Clemson

Come on, if you’re a real football fan you knew the Tigers were going to be in the No.1 spot. That’s even with them losing a ton of talent to the NFL.

They’re at the point where they are just reloaded with talent similar to FSU football at its peak.

The reigning national champions finished last season with the No. 3 defense according to S&P stats.

They were top five in every major category for S&P and only allowed 13.1 ppg with opponents converting on third down just 28 percent of the time.

They allowed 2.51 yards and only allowed 4.19 ypp on the season.

Did I mention they could get after the quarterback too? They were tied for No. 1 in the country with 54 sacks and tied for No. 1 in the nation with 136 tackles for loss.

Clemson loses five of its six top tacklers from last season and lost a lot at linebacker. The saving grace for them is playing time the reserves got in all the blowouts last season.
