FSU football is in dire need of quality offensive tackles for the 2020 recruiting cycle. One of its biggest targets has decommitted from South Carolina.

It was news FSU football fans had been expecting as four-star offensive line target Isaiah Walker Jr. finally decommitted from South Carolina Tuesday night.

Walker is the No. 148 player ranked nationally and the No. 17 offensive tackle while being ranked the No. 19 player in the state of Florida.

He had been committed since May 8, 2018, and visited South Carolina a couple of times since and as recently as May 31st.

However, he was offered by FSU football, Miami Hurricanes and the Florida Gators which likely changed the game.

He’s visited FSU twice this spring, including for the spring game, but has visited Florida twice and Miami numerous times including twice in the month of June.

Walker has been shining at The Opening winning reps against some quality players.

Thoughts

The good news is he finally decommitted from South Carolina which likely means it’s going to be an in-state school that lands him. He has visited both Florida and Miami more recently with Miami now getting 25 percent of the 247 crystal ball predictions.

The Noles have to get him back on campus and will likely eye its Saturday Night Live event later this month as the best opportunity.

It’ll be when all of the best players and biggest targets on FSU’s recruiting board are on campus. The offensive line has been a position of emphasis for the Noles the last couple of recruiting cycles.

They currently have two offensive linemen committed for 2020 but will likely take at least two more.

If they could add Walker Jr. it would be a huge boost to the class while also keeping a talented player away from its hated rivals.
