FSU football has sent a large number of players to the NFL in the last decade. A trio has shown up on one writer’s NFL top 100 list.

FSU football hasn’t enjoyed the success its accustomed to the past couple of seasons. The Noles have gone 12-13 the past two years, but continue to churn out top talent.

They’ve had five first round draft picks and six second round draft picks going back to the 2015 draft.

The good news for FSU fans is those players have lived up to the billing for the most part. I’d say of those 11 players only two have been absolute busts with the jury still out on one or two due to injuries or other issues.

The number of high draft picks probably casts an even larger shadow considering the lack of success FSU football has had on the field since 2015.

Nevertheless, the Noles in the league continue to shine and three of them made Pete Prisco’s NFL Top 100 list:

Thoughts

Ramsey was not the highest cornerback on the list for some reason because Prisco felt he wasn’t as dominant although Ramsey had nearly identical stats to the season prior. I think Prisco is influenced by how bad the Jaguars were last season compared to the previous season. Ramsey definitely should have been higher.

It’s no surprise Derwin James was on the list as he made the Pro Bowl along with Ramsey. If he can avoid injuries he’ll be even higher next year.

Rodney Hudson showing on the list is surprising but then again it shouldn’t be. He’s always been a model of consistency even dating back to his FSU football days. He has started every game he has played in except one dating back to the 2013 season.

This is Pete Prisco’s personal list, but I’m sure Xavier Rhodes will make the actual NFL Top 100 list too. Devonta Freeman is another former Nole that likely would have made it if he didn’t get injured last season.
